List of Current Research Interests
Biomedical Ontology
Current research involves investigation of representations of social entities relevant to medicine, representation of information relevant to biomedicine (biobank information, clinical guidelines) and ontological representations of trauma medicine. Furthermore, I am interested in ontological representations organizing medication data.
Formal Ontology
Current research involves representation of social and legal entities for re-use in application ontologies. This involves some foundational research on social ontology from a phenomenological perspective. Furthermore, I am interested in optimizing relation representation ontology. Research results on using system theory-based approaches have already been published. In addition, research in that area involves leveraging graph theory to provide a universal method to supply relation hierarchies for upper ontologies.
Medical Information Systems
Current research involves ontology-driven epidemic modeling, developments towards tracking medical document acts and possibilities on using ontologies to facilitate data integration within and among trauma systems. Furthermore, I plan to look into using system theory-based relation representation to facilitate data integration in clinical-translational science.
