Dr. Mathias Brochhausen is researcher at the Institute of Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science (IFOMIS)[1], Saarbrücken, Germany since September 2005. He is part of the Institute Management of IFOMIS. Since December 2006 he is Executive Director of the European Consortium of Ontological Research (ECOR)[2].

Mathias Brochhausen holds a PhD (Dr. phil.) and a Masters degree (M.A.) in Philosophy from Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz. Besides Philosophy he has studied Physical Anthropology and Sociology.
