Welcome to my homepage!

I work as research associate at the University Hospital Freiburg - Medical Informatics Group. I am also affiliated with the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) and the Institute for Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science (IFOMIS).

My work focuses primarily on the representation and management of biomedical data through ontologies and Semantic Web technologies (member of the W3C HCLSIG). At the moment, I (co)implement several ontologies and I am concerned with the realization of software applications integrating and applying them:

• the top-level Basic Formal Ontology (BFO),
• the BioTop top-domain ontology,
• an ontology for the research on cerebral aneurysms (Aneurist project) and
• another one for clinical trials on nephroblastoma and breast cancer (ACGT project).
